Because I don't have enough unfinished crafts in queue

It's called Kanzashi, and it's the Japanese art of making flowers out of leetle bits of folded silk, glued together with rice paste. They used them for hairpieces for the geisha.. and I think they're fabulous.

And of course it's something totally missing in English how-tos on the Internet. But after reading about it on the Craftster blog, I did run out and eBay this great book with instructions in Japanese. Thank goodness for my mum, who can translate it for me, if need be.
